  • Rinse 1 medium head cauliflower thoroughly under cold water. Place the rinsed cauliflower on a cutting board and pat it completely dry with a paper towel. Carefully cut away and discard the tough, fibrous base of the cauliflower head. Chop the remaining portion of the head into individual cauliflower florets, ensuring they are all roughly the same size (about 1.5 to 2 inches) for even cooking.
  • Insert your steamer basket into the Instant Pot insert. If using a trivet, place it at the bottom. Pour ½ cup water into the bottom of the Instant Pot insert, ensuring it doesn’t touch the bottom of the steamer basket. Then, add the prepared cauliflower florets evenly into the steamer basket.
  • Secure the lid on your Instant Pot, making sure the sealing vent is in the “Sealing” position. Set the Instant Pot to “Manual” or “Pressure Cook” mode on High Pressure. Crucially, set the cook time to 0 minutes. The Instant Pot will then begin to pressurize. The cooking actually occurs during this pressurization phase, yielding perfectly crisp-tender cauliflower.
