Raspberry Lemonade Ingredients

Ingredients including raspberries, lemon, sugar, water and mint.

To make this recipe, you will need fresh raspberries, lemon juice, sugar, water and mint for garnish.

How Do You Make Raspberry Lemonade?

Combine the sugar with water, and heat to dissolve the sugar. This makes a simple syrup to sweeten the lemonade. Place the raspberries in a blender with water, then puree the berries. Run the berries through a fine sieve to remove the seeds. Add the berry puree, lemon juice, simple syrup and water to a large pitcher, then stir to combine. Chill the lemonade, then serve with fresh berries, lemon slices and mint for garnish.

Tips For The Perfect Drink

  • Fresh raspberries work best in this recipe. You can use frozen raspberries if that’s what you have on hand, but you may need to add more sugar.
  • Raspberry lemonade will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • I like to use Meyer lemons when they are available. These lemons are softer and easier to squeeze, and the juice tends to be sweeter than regular lemons. Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best results.
  • Fresh mint adds great color and flavor to garnish the drink, but it’s also fine to omit it if you prefer.

Quick Tip

Make your lemonade even more special by dipping the rims of your serving glasses in water, then onto a plate of sugar for a sugar rimmed cup.

Flavor Variations

This drink is great as-is, but you can easily change some of the ingredients to suit your tastes.

  • Berries: Swap out the raspberries for strawberries, blueberries or blackberries.
  • Water: Replace the water with sparkling water. If you use sparkling water, you’ll want to use the lemonade within one day.
  • Alcohol: Turn this into an adult drink by substituting one cup of the water for one cup of vodka, rum or limoncello.

I make this lemonade all summer long, and it’s always a hit with friends and family!
